Birthday: June 27, 1970
Occupation: Director, Special Events & Volunteer Services Website: www.centeronhalsted.org/ Marital Status: Committed Relationship My favorite high school memory was: When I look back, it would have to be hanging out with friends, playing softball, choir classes & shows and ski club trips! From Leslie: Life, Love & the Pursuit of Happiness!
Life: Shortly after high school I moved to Arizona and lived the party life, traveled and worked in the hotel industry which jump-started my career in special events. In the mid 90’s I moved back home and began working in the higher education field. In 2006 I helped bring the Gay Games to Chicago and make history for the city! The most significant turning point in my life occurred with the loss of both my parents. While I still miss them dearly, the lesson they both taught me about “living life to its fullest” is how I approach each and every day of my life!
Love: Meeting my wonderful partner Mary has brought much joy and happiness into my life. We reside in the Lincoln Square neighborhood and enjoy all the city has to offer! My three beautiful nieces keep me young at heart, too!
Pursuit of Happiness: During my tenure at Northwestern University, my humanitarian efforts assisted in creating the LGBT Support Network Committee. Through our work of educating and supporting faculty, staff and students, we were able to increase the level of resources available on both campuses today.
With that, I've recently taken a position as a professional gay, so to say! I'm now working at Chicago's historic Center on Halsted, which is a dream. Being able to provide programs and services to the community is an amazing experience.
I’m also helping to bring the Summer Olympics to Chicago in 2016! Let's hope it becomes a reality!
I have a HUGE fundraiser the weekend of the reunion. If I don’t make any of the events, know that I’ll be there in spirit! |
